Information Search Requests

Who is eligible to request information searches?
Information searches are provided free of charge to Medical Staff, SIU Residents, hospital employees, faculty, HSHS corporate staff and Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis for patient care and work related purposes.  Users are charged for literature searches used for purposes not related to hospital work or patient care, such as for school projects.  . 

How do I request an information search?
Users can request a search by completing a Computer Search Request form available at the reference desk or complete an online Information Search Request form.

How long will it take?
Library staff will attempt to complete all search requests by the user's date needed. 

Completed searches can be faxed, mailed, emailed or picked up at the Circulation Desk.
