Getting Tables of Contents Alerts for Ovid Journals

Set up email tables of contents alerts.

What are Ovid MEDLINE AutoAlerts?

AutoAlerts automatically emails you when new article references of interest are added to the Library's Ovid MEDLINE database.  You can get weekly, biweekly or monthly updates.

How can I get AutoAlerts?

You must have a  Personal Account in Ovid MEDLINE (It's free!) in order to receive AutoAlerts. The "My Account" Login link is at the top center of the main Ovid MEDLINE search screen.

If you don't already have a Personal Account, you must create a Personal Account Name and Password and have an email address.

How can I create an Autoalert?

For instructions on how to save a MEDLINE search and create an AutoAlert, go to "Help" in the upper right corner of the main Ovid search screen.

After you have created a search that you want repeated regularly, click "Save Search History" button at bottom right of your search results.

You will be prompted for your Personal Account Name & Password.

Give your search a name. At "Type" dropdown box, select "AutoAlert (SDI)."

Then choose your options, such as how often you want the search to be run & emailed to address you specify. (Default is to have AutoAlerts emailed.)

Remember, you can always go back and edit the AutoAlert & its options if needed.
